“ I used to be a semi-regular 30 years ago. Somehow, it tastes and smells the same in there. I had the lunch special. It's just as delicious as I remember from when I was a kid. I think even the nice little old lady at the counter is the same, although I can't imagine how that's possible given how much time has passed, maybe she's her daughter? This place is a time warp back to a simpler time and all the feelings are good for me with this place, comfort food to the max. “ This is not your ordinary non japanese owned teriyaki spot that uses fake high fructose corn syrup teriyaki and long grain rice. This spot is 100% authentic Japanese teriyaki! How can you tell? They use short grain rice, have togarashi chilli flakes, ginger, chilli oil, free green onions, and sesame seeds, as optional toppings , and they also sell chashu pork. I can tell that they use japanese imported products cause I used to work at Marukai, aka Tokyo Central, when I was younger and can taste it. The portions are big and the teriyaki sauce is not overly sweet and overpowering like some spots. This is a family owned restaurant that's been here since 1985 and the quality of their food and hospitality proves why! Really tastes like home made food. Ill definitely be returning if I have work near by. Thanks! ”
